Lydia DaveyLydia - Afrikaans tutor

I was a university lecturer and teacher of Afrikaans for more than 30 years. I also taught private students from beginners to advanced level. In my postgraduate studies I concentrated on language acquisition, second/foreign language teaching, bi- and multilingualism.

I served on textbook selection committees for Afrikaans (additional language) textbooks, wrote reviews of textbooks, etc., marked and moderated examination papers (Afrikaans as additional language) for matric and colleges of education. I have edited and translated articles, theses and books.

In Swaziland I taught students from 17 countries and enjoyed the interaction with people from diverse cultures.

More recently, I have worked with many learners doing the different Cambridge assessment courses such as IGCSE, A Levels, etc., as well as IB courses.

The new Afrikaans lessons via Skype have proved to be very popular among young learners.

Michael Michael - Computer tutor

I hold a Diploma in IT and am currently working towards various Microsoft Certifications. I believe that anyone who has the desire and determination to try can succeed in IT.

It is immensely rewarding to be part of the training process at Far South Tutors and I’m looking forward to working with you.

Adele Davey Adele - Language tutor, content writer and copy editor

I am passionate about people, cultures and languages and once I’d completed my degree at Stellenbosch University, I spent many years living abroad and teaching foreigners in the UK, Japan and Angola. These experiences have always stayed with me and also taught me so much about different cultures.

More recently I’ve been working with local and foreign students of all ages and levels, assessing their levels, compiling course material and organising private tuition, group tuition, and summer and winter schools in Cape Town.

I’m looking forward to assisting you with your educational needs!
